A Busy Weekend and Now it is the Middle of the Week

I became obsessed over the weekend to clean the shelves in my stamp room. I should have taken before pictures but I didn't want anyone to see how big of a slob I am. Anyway, my stamp room is in the basement and where I hold my classes. It is by no means anything fancy...which suits me fine because we can get messy and no one cares. What I did was went through many clear containers and bags and organized them into racks that have divider boxes in them. The racks came from the craft store I worked at and managed for many years. We decided to retire a few years ago so I am utilizing the racks that were kept. The shelves on the one wall was already in the house when we bought it. I bought the other shelves at WalMart. I have pictures for you to see. Beware....I have tons of stuff and this is only part of the room.
I don't know when I will get ot the other side of the room. It isn't as big but it has stuff stashed everywhere. Geesh...it doesn't pay to be a pack rat. I threw away so much junk and gave away some stuff too. It sure makes me feel better. Now I hate to mess it up....LOL
I hope to have some ideas to share shortly. I really need to get this uploaded onto my computer. Have a great day!

Just a few things to Share

I thought I would share my Make & Takes from my retreat last week. I did four of them and made all of them super simple.

This little ornament is using a coin slide. I stippled the slide with L'Amore Red, Jardin Moss and Raw Sienna Palette pads. I stamped the peas on a white piece of cardstock and colored with colored pencils. I then adhered it between the slides. I punched a hole in the top with the Crop a dile; added a ribbon and brad and you're done.

The stamp set has just been discontinued by TAC.

This little snowman box is a die cut I got from Donna Polley at http://www.ka-diecuts.com/. She is really reasonable and quick. Not to mention she is also a TAC Demonstrator. The box is called a small pyramid box on her site.

This is a magnet calendar done on a coaster. The calendars came from a company called vippies. Their website is http://www.vippies.com/. This is the medium sized calendar. A fast project that would be great for craft fairs.

This is called a Z fold card. I used the floral dingbats set, More Abundance and the Hemingway Paper collection. This card is also in an older post so you may have already seen it.

We had a Shoebox Swap. We had 11 people get in it. This is the project I did. It is also a die cut from Donna Polley. The link for her site is above. I used the Simply Christmas set and Whimisical Greetings.

This is the purse I made from a wooden box I had bought and put in everyone's goodie bag. The post before this shows the contest winners purses. It was fun to see what everyone came up with.
See you all in a day or two. Have a good one!!!!!!

My Weekend Retreat was a Blast

I just hosted my semi-annual retreat this past weekend and it was a blast. We were sleep deprived and laughed a lot. I can't wait for the next one even though I am still in retreat hangover mode. I have a lot of pictures to share with you so be patient. This post will be long.
This first picture is the conference center where I host the retreats. It is no nice.
The next picture is the conference room where we do all of our creating, classes, etc. Basically everything but sleep. I had the tables set where there were only 2 people per table and they were set in groups so they could talk while they worked.
Once everyone gets to the retreat with all of their stuff, we have a full room as you can see in the picture below. This is just a portion of what the room looks like after people start arriving.
Of course what is a retreat if there is no place to sleep. We have dorm style sleeping at the facility. What a hoot it is to have one big slumber party. Here are the two rooms for sleeping. No I didn't get anyone asleep. I thought I would be nice.
We had contests, door prizes and a raffle. I raffled off one of the Vituri Scrapbooking bags we carry in the catalog. Here is a picture of the bag with the winner. It is Pam Longfield. She is a very good friend of mine and customer.

Pam was already to take a picture of the winner. She had her camera pointed to where I was standing so she could get whoever won the bag. After her number was called; she took pictures of herself before coming to get the bag. Now she can strut in style when she comes back to the retreats.

I gave away quite a few door prizes but not everyone got to win. Here is a picture of a couple losers. LOL !!! Maybe they will
have better luck next time!

I got a really good deal on these wood boxes that actually look like they could be used for a purse or file box. I put one in everyone's goodie bag and had a contest for the ones that wanted to decorate them. I will post the two that won the contest. The green one was made by Lori Heath and the black and white one was by Joyce Doehlman.
I will post the pictures of the Make & Takes tomorrow or Wednesday. It is getting late and my brain is dying.

I was TAGGED

I was tagged by Awna Stark and almost forgot about it. This tag is called THE NAME GAME. Below tells you how it works.

The NAME GAME. The name of the game is to list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life, for each letter of your middle name. If you don't have a middle name, use the name you would have liked to have had. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog post containing your middle name and game facts. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged and to read your blog.

J...JOLLY I think that I am a jolly person (most of the time). Just don't catch me on an off day.

E...EFFICIENT..I feel I am very efficient in everything I get involved in. I am very productive not only in my stamping business but also in general life.

A...AFFECTIONATE..I don't alwasy show affection but I have a lot of affection for everyone in my heart. I really should show my affection more.

N....NICE...I try to be nice to everyone. I firmly believe if you are nice to someone they will be nice to you in return. Now we all know that sometimes this isn't the case but then I try to be extra nice (for all the wrong reasons). It usually makes that individual made.

Now I am to TAG people and there name should start with a letter in my middle name. I'm glad I have a short middle name..LOL

J....Jen Bluestein. She is also a demonstrator for The Angel Company
http://www.trueblueangelstamping.blogspot.com/

E...Everlasting Friend....LOL I have to get creative. This would be Char Wilson. Of course a demonstrator with The Angel Company.http://www.pawsn2stamp.blogspot.com/

A....Avis Anderson. She is another demonstrator for The Angel Company. She isn't much on posting to her blog but maybe this will get her going. http://www.avisanderson.blogspot.com/

N......Nancy...Also another demonstrator. http://www.inkcicles.blogspot.com/

Let's see what you ladies have to say!

Time has sure gotten away from ME!

I can't believe how long it has been since I posted. I have been so busy working on my semi-annual retreat that I do. It is coming up this Friday. I can't wait although I have thrown a monkey srench into it.
I was going to the post office yesterday to mail some swaps and twisted my foot some way and have strained the ligaments. I am in an aircast and on crutches. I sure hope it is better by Friday. I am able to work on things. Not an easy task though. My craft room is in my basement so I go down the steps on my butt and go up the steps on my knees. What a site! I would have withdrawls if I couldn't stamp or get on the computer. My hubby wouldn't want to live with me if that would happen.
I do have plenty of things to share but I don't want to share until I have my retreat since some of it is my make & takes.
Maybe I will get some pictures uploaded of other things to share. See you soon!
