Great Color Combo

I was playing with different colors of cardstock and really love the looks of these colors together.  Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mamba.  I also loved the different textures with the embossing folders and then adding the stamp flowers along with the Itty Bitty Banner and saying.  Not to mention the small amount of DSP paper for the scalloped border.

Sometimes it is just plain fun to mix and match and see what you can come up with.

Enjoy the card and have a wonderful night.

Happy Sunday

I hope everyone is getting to enjoy their day today.  I have had a nice day so far.  Got up and went to church but left there early to go see my grandson compete with his high school percussion band.  What a treat.  I love that he has an interest in band and keeps himself busy with it.

I am now down in my craft room to play a bit before going back to church....yes I go twice on Sunday's.  My hubby and I love going to church and very rarely miss.  BUT before I break out the supplies to create I thought I would post a card today.

The card I chose for today makes me thing "Happy" when I see it.  I love the colors:  Indigo Blue, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green and Tangerine Tango.  Sounds like fun doesn't it.  I also used Happy Watercolor DSP.  I am loving the print with the circles on it but had to add some words to it.  Just wanted to break those circles up a bit.  The other things I used is Flower shop stamp set and the Pansy punch along with the Adorning Accents die.  I hope you enjoy the card!

Have a blessed day today!

Lovin' this Card

I really love how this card turned out.  I am sure it will be in one of my upcoming classes.  The colors scream "Happy" to me.  I love it.
The items I used were:  Happy Watercolor and Petite Petals stamp sets; Petite Petals and Scallop Tag punches; Lots of Dots embossing folder; Gumball Green cardstock; Watercolor Wonder DSP; Whisper White cardstock; Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango and Basic Black inks.
Hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Open House is Coming

I am going to host an Open House to debut my new Stampin Up business.  I have finally gotten everything organized and started doing some creating.  I will be having my Open House this coming Thursday, February 28th.  I am trying to decide on a Make N Take...which I should have already had done.  This is one of the cards I did.  I really like it and think it would be easy enough not to take a lot of time since I am doing this in a 4 hour time span and people can come and go.  I used the Flower Shop and Petite Pairs stamps sets along with the Pansy Punch and the Adorning Accents die and embossing folder.  These colors always pop out at me so I really like them.  Hope you like it too.

Happy Friday to everyone since it is almost Friday here.

Burlap and Blooms

I sat down tonight and put the Burlap and Blooms Wreath together.  A nice change from cards but still working with paper.  I also liked the idea of doing some with Flowers and Spring.  This will be hanging on my front door for my Open House next week.  It was easy to put together and everything but the glue was in the kit.  You can beat that for $17.95.  You can order it here

I will get back to card making tomorrow.  I have my Open House next week and classes starting the week after that.  It feels good to be getting my business going.

Have a Blessed Day,

Petal Parade

I haven't had a chance to really play and get creative but I wanted to share a card with you.  I am loving the FREE stuff in the Sale a Brations catalog.  For every $50 you spend with Stampin Up right now you get to pick a FREE item from the Sale a Brations catalog.  The FREE stuff I used on this card is the Sweet Sorbet DSP and the Petal Parade Stamp set.  The stamps go so well with these papers so I had to put something together.  I also just got the Envelope Punch Board and wanted to try making the Bow with it.  Boy that was nice and easy.  I also used a sentiment out of the Petite Pairs stamp set.  I hope you enjoy the card and as always you can always go to my website or email me if you would like to place an order.

Have a good evening or whatever time of day it is for you!!!  See you Soon!!!!

My Paper Pumpkin

My My Paper Pumpkin kit came in the mail yesterday.  I was glad to see that little red box on my porch when I got home from running errands.

I made myself get a few things done before I opened the box.  When I finally got to that this is what I found:

The markers you see in the background of the picture are the FREE markers you get for signing up for MY Paper Pumpkin by March 31st.  If you decide you want to do that you can go to My Paper Pumpkin to place your order.  Remember to put my name, Rita Holmes, in as your demonstrator if you don't already have one.
After opening the box I decided to sit down and go ahead and make the card project that was in the box.  Here is a picture of the finished cards:

The kit had everything in it I needed except for the adhesive for the button.  It was simple and fast.  A great way to build up some finished cards for when you need one last minute.

I hope you enjoyed the post today and I hope you come back and check out what else is going on in my little corner of the world.  Don't forget to sign up to follow me by email.  Sure would hate for you to miss anything!

What Have I Been Doing?

It has been forever since I have posted to my blog.  Let's just say I was in a craft "funk" and really didn't care about sharing BUT  I have started a new adventure and think I will be very happy.

I just became a Stampin UP! Demonstrator and can't wait to share some ideas with you.  I have linked my Stampin Up! Website to my blog as well as showing the catalogs and all.  I do hope you take the time to check me out.  I would love to help you get more goodies to play with.

What I need to do first is share some photos with you of my very messy craft room and what it looks like after 2 1/2 weeks of cleaning and literally throwing away a TON of stuff.

The first set of pictures will be my before pictures:

Now here is the room after 2 1/2 weeks of hard work!

Wouldn't you say it looks a whole lot better?  Now it is time to get creative.  I hope to have something to share in the next day or so.  I won't have tons right now as I didn't have any Stampin Up! stamp sets....only some punches when I decided to do this.

For now I will say Bye!!! and hope you have a blessed day!  Thanks for stopping by!
